Toronto: The Artful Dodger

Around one of the other corners from the hotel we stay at for ACN, there's a comfy little pub called The Artful Dodger. I like this place because they've got Strongbow Cider on tap. When we first found it, it was something of a treat as I hadn't had the stuff in nearly ten years -- not since my term abroad in England. They also have tasty Smithwick's. Their pub fare is decent -- good for a fish 'n' chips fix, and I appreciate the fact that one of their dining rooms is non-smoking. We usually stop in at least once during the trip and relax and enjoy.

This year I think we enjoyed more pints in one sitting than we had in the past, which was, of course, fine with me. *grin* For my dinner I had a fairly plain steak, but it was cooked well enough, and was pretty much exactly what I was in the mood for that day.

Is that Strongbow Cider a hard cider? On tap? Oh, I must try to get to ACN next year.

I love a good hard cider, but it's hard enough to find in bottles, never mind on tap. Woodchuck is my current favorite, as I've found Ciderjack too sweet for me. Though their seasonal Cranberry is quite tasty.

Yep - Strongbow is a hard cider. And, after having it once again, I don't think I can go back to drinking any of the domestic versions. Woodchuck is vastly inferior, imo.

Woodchuck, and most other American hard ciders I've tried, all tend to be on the sweet side of things to some extent. By contrast, the Strongbow is nice and dry (but not too dry).

And yes, Julia, you must try to get to ACN next year. *grin*
