A book recommendation
Over the weekend I started reading a book called The Best Democracy Money Can Buy by Greg Palast. I’m one chapter in, and I already really like both his attitude and his devotion to relying on research rather than just his own opinions. The first chapter is a detailed look at how the state of Florida helped steal the 2000 election for Bush, and how the U.S. media stubbornly refused to report the story no matter how much evidence was shoved in their faces. So far it’s really fascinating stuff, though really frustrating too. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what Palast has to say in the rest of the book.
