Ignoring inconvenient information
On the same day that President Bush signed his $350 billion dollar tax cut into law, the Financial Times published a front-page story about a study commissioned by the Treasury which predicts a future of budget deficits that will total $44,000 billion dollars. Apparently the Bush administration decided to bury that report, which recommends tax increases, while it was campaigning for it’s tax cut for the wealthy. As one comment I’ve seen said, “The Bush White House: screw the poor now, screw the rest of us later.”
