Another step toward the total surveillance state
As part of the continuing efforts to make it clear to the rest of the world that they’re not welcome here in the good ol’ U.S. of A., three U.S.-Canada border crossings are now going to start forcing non-Canadians who cross into the U.S. to carry wireless RFID-cards that’ll contain their personal information. Apparently photographing and fingerprinting visitors wasn’t keeping enough people out. It’s a test program at this point, but that just means it’ll be a little longer before it spreads to every point of entry.
