The Governator

Okay, I haven’t commented much on the idiocy involved in electing Arnie as the governor of California, but this piece does a great job of summing things up.

Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of America’s largest state this week, lifting a groping paw to the controls of what some define as the fifth largest economy in the world. Two-thirds of the people who voted for him believe he will not have to raise taxes to rectify a $10 billion budget deficit. They are psychotic. One academic has called it “a rescue fantasy.”

The people of California are in for a rude awakening if they think Schwarzenegger is going to actually do anything to make their lives better. What are they really going to get from a man who allied himself with some of the very people who helped screw California over during the recent electricity crisis there? Exactly what many of them, those who voted for Arnold simply because they like his movies, deserve.
