Not really welcome

Danny O’Brien has a post up over at Oblomovka about the reason a friend of his is cancelling his plans to visit him in later this year. That reason can be summed up simply enough by pointing to all of the new visa nonsense that’s being put in place in the name of “homeland security,” which is serving to basically make it a hassle for most of the other people in the world to visit the United States (or study here). Is this actually making us safer, or is separating ourselves even further from the rest of the world just making it easier for them to hate Americans?
