Supporting our troops
You’ve probably seen the lawn signs encouraging passers-by to “support our troops,” but what the people who put those signs out often mean is “support the war in Iraq” or “support Bush.” Obviously if they actually supported the troops themselves, they would be outraged by the shoddy treatment [registration required] members of the armed forces and veterans are getting from the Bush administration. Or are “real” patriots supposed to just ignore things like that while they wave their flags?
