Lots of music…

For me, these last couple weeks have been an embarrassment of great music in cosy concerts (one of them perhaps a bit *too* cosy)…

I’ve been to see Anne Heaton at Jeff’s Yale House (if that’s what he’s still calling it). House concerts sure give one a different perspective — even the most polished performers come across as more raw and natural than in so-called professional settings. Anne Heaton had a lot of energy and was a lot of fun.

Also — two back to back concerts by the lovely and expressive Vienna Teng (more on those in a separate entry because I was careful enough to take down setlists).

Last Sunday — I trekked up to The Iron Horse to see Sarah Harmer. She’s just released a new CD, and Michael beat me to ordering it. I guess we both enjoyed the concert so much, it was going to be quite the contest. Got to hear a couple old favorites (including “Lodestar” which I just about thought she was going to skip) and some of the new songs, which I’d never heard before (and prompted the need to purchase).
